Make the most of your stay

Spring is a lovely time of year to visit the camp as Maine emerges from its winter slumber. The lake is quiet before the hustle and bustle of summer, making it a perfect getaway retreat from the busy city.

Spring on the lake is quiet and peaceful.

Hike.

The Appalachian Trail (pictured) is 40 minutes away and offers excellent hiking. For a more local adventure, climb Pico Point for a view over the lake, and enjoy other local hiking trails.

Kayak.

The water is astonishingly clear and it’s a wonderful time to kick back and enjoy early morning kayaks as the mist rises over the lake.

Fish.

The lake is home to brook trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, and smallmouth bass.

For good fly fishing, try Sandy River or Kimble Pond, for a start. Find out more here and here.
